Today marked day 1 of 31 days of reading through Proverbs for myself.
I’ll read through it once, learn how to interpret it properly through another book, then read through it again hopefully to gain more knowledge.
But today I read from chapter 1, and even asked my parentals about it.
Verses 20-33 were freakin’ trippy, because what I read almost didn’t sound like the Bible. But what reassured me was the fact that not every book was written in the same way; each book has its own context.
Anyway, basically, Wisdom (from God) was personified and telling people that you g’on suffer in that unforgiving, merciless world w/o me…
how relevent, don’t you think?
Being a Christian is never easy.
Accepting Christ is easy, Obeying Christ is the real challenge.
Challenge yourself to gain more wisdom from Christ. It’s worth it in the end.
Grades are getting low, the teens are getting high. That 12 year old is pregnant and her parents wonder why. A 1st grader is swearing, a 3rd grader has been raped. Just take a look around you, isn't the system great? Who isn't faded these days, teens are sending nudes, kids are getting beaten, the teachers see the bruises. No calls for help are spoken, teens are smoking weed, young girls are cutting, this isn't what we need. The marks of taunt and yelling, parents are divorced. That 14 year old is drinking beer, this can't get any worse. A little girl has killed herself, nobody seems to care. Another kid has been expelled for a stupid dare. But it needs to change. Our world is officially broken. It's time to take a stand, your thoughts need to be spoken.
“How was your day?”
“Text me when you get home so I know you’re safe”
“How are you?”
“I hope you’re feeling better”
“Have a good day today!”
“I miss you”
“Can you come over?”
“Can I come over?”
“Can I see you?”
“Can I call you?”
“Want something to drink?”
“Watch your step”
“Let’s watch a movie”
“What are you up to?”
“How is your day so far?”
“It will be okay”
“I’m here for you”
“Do you need anything?”
“Are you hungry?”
“I just wanted to hear your voice”
“You just made my day”
You don’t have to hear “I Love You” to know that someone does. Listen carefully. People speak from the heart more often than you think.
I’m that friend you can call at anytime and i’ll pick up. I would be there to pick you up if you are stranded and need a ride. I’m that friend you can vent all your problems to and I’ll listen to you. I wouldn’t let you down or leave you alone when you need me. I’m that friend that would always be there for you no matter what.
